A Day At the Movies

I just spent all of yesterday at the movies with a couple of friends. This is the second year that AMC has offered this fun day at the movies. I went last year too! For $30 you get to see 5 movies that are up for the awards and they give you popcorn, you can bring in your own food and drink and they give some time in between the movies to walk around and stretch. This year we saw Michael Clayton, There Will Be Blood, Atonement, Juno and No Country For Old Men. I hadn't seen any of them before, other than Juno. I really liked that one, so I didn't mind seeing it twice. Juno was my favorite of the 5. Michael Clayton was also very good. Atonement and No Country For Old Men tied for 3rd/4th and There Will Be Blood was my least favorite. There was a death theme this year. Juno is the only one without death. No Country for Old Men had a crazy amount of killing. Atonement had war, and therefore death, Michael Clayton had a little bit of death and one scene that I actually shrieked at because it surprised me, and There Will Be Blood had several accidental deaths and a couple of murders. I really just enjoy comedies, adventures and other feel-good movies, so this was a big day of not-what-I'm-used-to for me.
